Re-opening Components when new fields are added to a specification form
In e-halo, we regularly update our Recyclability, At Risk/Banned materials and other legislative/ packaging calculation services to ensure the results we provide to our users are aligned with the most up to date legislation and guidance.
These updates can sometimes result in new mandatory fields being added to a component specification. Any new fields will be applied to all new and in progress Bills of Materials.
If new fields have been added to any components linked to your ‘in progress’ Bills of Materials, e-halo will ensure this new information is captured, by doing checks on the following tasks:
Confirm Component task:
When I click ‘complete’ on a ‘Confirm component’ task, e-halo will validate the information on the component specification form to ensure no mandatory fields are missing.
If there are any mandatory fields missing, I can see them in the validation summary at the top of the form.
I will not be able to complete the ‘Confirm Component’ task until all the mandatory information has been added to the specification form.
The fields can be completed by clicking on the 'edit' button and saving the changes.
Complete Bill of Materials task:
When I click ‘complete’ on a ‘Complete Bill of Materials’ task, e-halo will validate the information on every component linked to the Bill of Materials, to ensure no mandatory fields are missing.
If mandatory fields missing in any component, a validation popup will let me know which components are missing fields.
Clicking on the ‘Edit Components’ button will kick off a new ‘Complete component’ task for each component I can see in the popup.
The ‘Complete Component’ task will be assigned to the user that submitted the component, allowing them to complete the new mandatory fields.
The components will have to be re-submitted and re-confirmed before the Bill of Materials can be submitted to the retailer for approval (as per the normal process)
Note: if any of the components missing mandatory information have a status of ‘active’ (are locked for editing), users will only be able to complete the new empty fields when they receive the ‘Complete component’ task. Any fields previously completed will be read-only and cannot be edited, this is because the existing information in the component has been previously approved.
Approve Bill of Materials task:
When I click ‘complete’ on an ‘Approve a Bill of Materials’ task, e-halo will validate the information on every component linked to the Bill of Materials, to ensure no mandatory fields are missing.
If any components are missing mandatory fields, the verdict modal will have a verdict of rejected of rejected for the Bill of Materials and for all components with missing fields. This ‘rejected’ verdict cannot be amended.
User will be able to select a verdict for all components that are not missing mandatory information, as per the existing functionality.
The Bill of Materials cannot be approved if any of their components are missing mandatory fields.
Both the Bill of Materials and the components missing information will be rejected. This is so that a ‘Complete component’ task is kicked off for all components missing information, allowing the users to enter the missing information.
Updates and Bug Fixes:
- Users will no longer be able to delete documents uploaded in a component form from the ‘Documentation tab’
- Fixed the issue where product supplier users were getting an ‘access denied’ error when clicking on a product before the ‘Complete Bill of Materials’ task had kicked off. Product supplier users will have access to the product as soon as their brief is created.
- Fixed the issue where the ‘Complete component’ task was not being kicked off after a component was created if the component was created from a Bill of Material that had no supplier code.
