- This can be done by Product Suppliers
As part of the ‘Complete Bill of Materials' task, product supplier users will need to enter the ‘Quantity’ of each of the components in their Bill of Materials. The quantity of a component is the number of times a component is used on each tier of the Bill of Materials.
It is common to have the same component used more than once in a tier, for example, in the Bill of Materials of a bottle of wine, you might use an identical label component for the front and back label.
Because the label is the same component specification, you don’t need to add the label twice, you only need to specify the quantity of the label component, in this example it’s 2, as you are using the same component twice in your packaging.
How-to:
1. To enter the ‘Quantity’ of a component, click on the ‘Complete Bill of Materials’ task from your task page.
To the right of each component, you will see a ‘Quantity’ field:
2. Click on the field to enter the component quantity.
Note: 'Quantity' is a number field, the system will only allow you to enter numerical values on this field.
‘Quantity’ for primary components
Please enter the quantity of the same component per SKU, e.g., an identical label spec used on the front and back of a bottle equals 2.
‘Quantity’ for secondary components
Please enter the quantity of the same component per SKU, e.g., an identical label spec used twice on a case equals 2.
‘Quantity’ for tertiary components
Please enter the quantity of the same component per SKU, e.g., an identical label spec used twice on a pallet equals 2.
