e-halo Release Notes - 3rd July 2025, RC 2.6

What's New?

Archive Products

Retailer users will have the ability to archive products to indicate that a product had previously been on sale but will no longer be sold.

Products can only be archived if they have at least one ‘off sale’ or ‘archived’ SKU.

If the product has any SKUs ‘in progress’, ‘available for sale’ or ‘on sale’, the product cannot be archived. To archive it, the users must wait until the SKUs are ‘off sale’ or, if the SKUs are not progressing, they must be cancelled before the product can be archived.

When a product doesn’t meet the criteria to be archived, the ‘archive’ button will be disabled.

Note: if a product has never been on sale and will not be progressing, the product should be ‘cancelled’, not archived.

To archive a product, find the product you would like to archive and click on the product’s ‘options’ button. If the product can be archived, the ‘archive’ button will be enabled:

After you click on the ‘archive’ button, a popup will ask you to confirm you would like to archive the product.

Once a product has been archived, the action cannot be undone.

Once archived, the products will be available in the Product hub with a status of ‘archived’.

Archive SKUs

Retailer users will have the ability to archive SKUs to indicate that a SKU had previously been on sale but will no longer be sold.

SKUs can only be archived if they are currently ‘off sale’.

If a SKU is has never been on sale and will not be progressing, the SKU should be ‘cancelled’. If a SKU is currently ‘on sale’, users will have to wait for it to go ‘off sale’ before it can be archived.

To archive a SKU, find the SKU you would like to archive and click on the SKU’s context menu (the ‘…’ button). If the SKU can be archived you will see an ‘archive’ option:

After you click on the ‘archive’ option, a popup will ask you to confirm you would like to archive the SKU.

Once a SKU has been archived, the action cannot be undone.

Once archived, the SKU will remain linked to its product and Bill of Materials with a status of ‘archived’.

Component and Bill of Materials Rejection: rich text comments

When adding rejection comments to a Bill of Materials and/or component, users will be able to use rich text to make their comments easier to read:

Once rejected, the rich text will be displayed in the approval history tab of the rejected item:

Delete Components

Components that are not linked to Bills of Materials can be deleted by product supplier domain admin or packaging supplier domain admin users, depending on what domain the component belongs to.

To delete a component, find the component you would like to delete and click on the options button.

The ‘Delete’ button will be enabled if the component can be deleted:

After you click on the ‘delete’ button, you will see popup asking you to confirm the action and enter a deletion reason.

Once the component is deleted, the component will no longer be displayed in the Component Hub and cannot be used again.

Deleting a component cannot be undone.

Create components: assign task to a specific contact

When creating a new component, users will now have the option to select the contact that should complete the component specification and will receive the ‘Complete Component’ task.

Option to pin headers to the top of the page for products, Bills of Materials and components:

Users will now have the option to pin the headers at the top of the page by clicking on the new pin icon that can be found on the products, components and Bills of Materials:

When the icon is blue, it indicates the headers are pinned. If you scroll down your page, the headers will always stay at the top of the page, no matter how far down you scroll.

If you would like to unpin the headers, simply click on the pin icon again.

Please note this will only affect the headers for your login, you will not affect other users by clicking on the pin icon.

Option to collapse/expand the brief instructions for Bills of Materials and components:

Users will now have the ability to collapse or expand the brief instructions of components and Bills of Materials by clicking on the chevron to the left of the title:

Option to mark components as ‘internal packaging waste’

Retailers will now have the option to ask their product suppliers to specify when components are ‘internal packaging’ in the Bills of Materials for their products.

This information can be used to flag components within your overall packaging footprint that are discarded internally within your supply chain / transit operations, allowing you to manage your entire packaging footprint in e-halo while differentiating between consumer destined and internal packaging. Examples of this include packaging that is unpacked/repacked and discarded in warehouses or fulfilment centres.

This functionality can be used to ensure internal packaging is correctly flagged and is therefore able to be excluded in your e-halo dashboards for relevant reporting requirements and legislation such as EPR and other packaging tax instruments, where different inclusion and exclusion criteria apply.

If the ‘Internal Packaging Waste’ feature is on for a retailer, when a product supplier is completing a Bill of Materials for that retailers, they will see an ‘internal packaging waste’ column in the secondary and tertiary components of the Bill of Materials:

A component should be marked as ‘internal packaging waste’ when that component is used  for internal transit only. This relates to packaging used to transport products between sites/departments within the internal supply chain e.g. boxes used to ship product from one internal warehouse to another that are discarded as operational waste.

Extra information on the ‘internal packaging waste’ is displayed to the user when they click on the ‘i’ icon of the column:

If you would be interested in collecting the ‘internal packaging waste’ data for your organisation, please contact your Customer Success Manager or our support team on support@sunbranding.com, and they will set this up for you.
