Connections allow organisations to work together and share information. Without a connection, work cannot be assigned from one organisation to another.
For example, if a retailer would like to assign the creation of a Bill of Materials to a Product Supplier organisation, they will need to be connected with them first.
Who can send a connection request?
Connection requests can be sent and managed by domain admin users only. You will be able to do different actions depending on the domain you belong to:
- Retailer admins can request to connect with product supplier organisations.
- Product Supplier admins can accept/reject a connection request from a Retailer and request to connect with Packaging Suppliers.
- Packaging Supplier admins can accept/reject a connection request from a Product Supplier and cannot request any connections.
How to Send a Connection Request
1. Click on the admin cog icon in the navbar, then click on the 'Domains' option.
2. From your Domain's details page, click on the 'Connections' tab. This will show you all active and requested connections from your organisation.

- If you are a product supplier user, the 'Organisation Type' will be locked as 'Packaging Supplier'
-
4. On the 'Organisation' field, you will see all the organisations available for you to connect with. Start typing to filter the list.
Once you select the organisation you want to connect with, you can add optional comments to the request.
5. Click on 'Send request' to send the connection request when you are ready. The request will be displayed in your 'Connections' tab, with a 'Requested' status.
The status will remain as requested until the connection is accepted by the other organisation.
Accepting/Rejecting Connection Requests
After a connection has been requested, the admin users will receive an email to let them know their organisation has received a connection request.
Admin users can access the connections tab from the button on the email or they can click on the admin cog and select the Domain option.
When you access the 'Connections' tab you will be able to see the incoming request, followed by the 'Accept' and 'Reject' buttons.
If you reject a connection with an organisation, your organisation will not be able to work with them.
