Introduction
This article explains when the 'Complete SKU Details' task is created, who is responsible for completing it, and how to complete the task.
Why is the Complete SKU Details task required?
The Complete SKU Details task is required so that e-halo can calculate recyclability results for countries that require SKU-specific attributes. These are component and BOM attributes that can vary from one SKU to another, even when the same component specification is used.
For example, the same label component may be used on both a white wine and a red wine product. Although the label specification is the same, the printing attributes can differ. The ink coverage may be 90% for the white wine SKU and 50% for the red wine SKU. Because these attributes are specific to each SKU, they must be captured at the SKU level.
To calculate the recyclability of a SKU, e-halo requires SKU-specific information for each primary decorated component linked to the Bill of Materials (BOM).
For example, if a BOM contains four primary decorated components, you will need to provide the required SKU-specific information (such as ink coverage) for all four components before the SKU can be completed.
Note: The Complete SKU Details task cannot be completed until the Bill of Materials (BOM) linked to the SKU has been completed, is active, and has been locked.
When the 'Complete SKU Details' Task is Created
When a retailer user approves the Bill of Materials (BOM) linked to a SKU, either through an 'Approve Bill of Materials' task or a 'Confirm Bill of Materials Link' task, a 'Complete SKU Details' task will automatically be created and assigned to the product supplier user that submitted the approved Bill of Materials.
When the 'Complete SKU Details' task is created, the SKU status will remain 'In Progress' until the task has been completed.
While the SKU status is 'In Progress':
- On and off sale dates can be added but the SKU status will not change until after the 'Complete SKU Details' task is completed.
- How2Recycle labels cannot be requested.
This ensures that all required SKU information has been completed before the SKU can progress, as the product should not go on sale until the associated packaging artwork is available.
Accessing the 'Complete SKU Details' Task
The Complete SKU Details task will be assigned to the product supplier domain and to the user who submitted the Bill of Materials to the retailer for approval.
The task due date will be the same as the due date of the associated Bill of Materials. If required, the task can be transferred from one user to another. Once transferred, the new assignee will be responsible for completing the task.
When the assigned user opens the Complete SKU Details task, they will be taken to the SKU Details page, where they can view and complete the SKU form and any associated Printed / Decorated Components forms.
Completing the 'Complete SKU Details' Task
Navigate to your Task Hub, then locate and click the Complete SKU Details task you would like to complete. Alternatively, you can click the link provided in the task notification email.
- You will be redirected to the SKU Details page, where you will see two different forms:
- SKU Form
This form usually contains the SKU details that need to be completed, such as the SKU reference, SKU image, and other SKU-related information. Printed / Decorated Components Form
This is a dynamic form. You may see multiple forms, depending on the number of printed or decorated components linked to the Bill of Materials (BOM) associated with the SKU.
- SKU Form
Once you have started completing the form, you can click Save to save your progress and return later to complete or review it. When you are ready, click Evaluate to validate the SKU information.
When you click Complete on the Complete SKU Details task, a confirmation message will be displayed informing you that, once the task is completed, the SKU will be locked and cannot be edited. You must confirm this message before the task can be completed. Once the task has been completed, the information entered in the SKU form will not be reviewed or approved by another user, as no approval step is included in the process.
Missing mandatory fields
- When you click Evaluate, the system checks the SKU and all linked components for any missing mandatory fields. If any linked component is missing mandatory information, the SKU will fail validation and a validation error will be displayed.
- If you try to Complete the Complete SKU Details task while any linked component is missing mandatory information, the component re-opening functionality will be triggered automatically, and the affected component(s) will be re-opened.
- Once a component has been re-opened, you can only update the mandatory fields that were missing. All previously completed fields will remain read-only, in line with the current functionality.
- After updating the missing information, both the Complete Component task and the Confirm Component task must be completed for each re-opened component.
Once all re-opened components have been completed and confirmed, you can return to the Complete SKU Details task, click Evaluate again, and then complete the task successfully.
