How to Transfer a task
1. Navigate to the Tasks hub and find the task you wish to transfer.
2. On the far-right side of that task's row, click on
to open a Transfer Task popup.
3. On the popup, you will have to select the organisation you want to transfer the task to. Select your own organisation if you want to transfer the task to all or a specific user within your organisation. Click '+ Next' once this is done.
4. Select the contact you would like to transfer the task to. Don't select a contact if you wish to assign the task to all contacts in the organisation.
5. The final tab is the brief instructions, the instructions are optional and will not override the brief. This section is used to add additional instructions to the person(s) you are transferring the task to.
The instructions will be displayed in the comments section of the item, under the brief instructions.
6. Complete the transfer by clicking the 'Transfer' button.
Taking Tasks
Users will now have the possibility to take tasks assigned to other users in their organisation so that they can complete them. The new ‘take task’ functionality will allow a user to transfer tasks to themselves.
- For example, ‘Colleague 1’ and ‘Colleague 2’ both work for the same product supplier organisation, ‘Colleague 2’ has a running ‘Complete Component’ task assigned to them, but they cannot complete it because they are off ill.
-
Today: ‘Colleague 1’ can see the ‘Complete Component’ task is assigned to ‘Colleague 2’ but they cannot complete the task, as it’s not assigned to them.
-
With the ‘Take Task’ functionality: ‘Colleague 1’ can see the ‘Complete Component’ task is assigned to ‘Colleague 2’ and they have the possibility to transfer this task to themselves. Once they have transferred the ‘Complete Component’ task to themselves, ‘Colleague 1’ will be able to complete it.
-
The ‘take tasks’ feature is specially useful for teams where all the team members can complete any/all tasks in their organisation and a specific task doesn’t need to be completed by a specific person(s).
Note: the functionality only works for tasks within your organisation, you cannot ‘take’ a task assigned to a user that belongs to a different organisation.
How to Take a Task
1. To take a task that is not assigned to you, go to your Task Hub, find the task you wish to take and click on the ‘take’ button:
2. e-halo will ask you to confirm your action:
3. Once the action is confirmed, the task will be assigned to you, and you will be able to access and complete it.
The 'Take Task' feature is active on your domain by default. If you need this deactivating, please contact our support team on support@sunbranding.com.
