Confirm/Reject a Component (Task)

When a product or a packaging supplier user has submitted a component for confirmation, the product supplier user that briefed the creation of the component will receive a 'Confirm Component' task.

Note: the component will need confirmation even if it has been submitted by the same product supplier user that is confirming it.

How-to:

1. Go to your Task Hub, find the 'Confirm Component' task you wish to complete and click on the task to access the component.

2. In the Component's details page, you will see the brief instructions added and all the information completed by the product or packaging supplier that submitted the component.

3. Review the component by navigating the overview, technical drawing, documentation and compliance tabs.

      • Under the 'Overview' tab you can review the component's specification form.
      • Under the 'Technical Drawing' tab, you can review the component's technical drawing (if it was uploaded) and the technical drawing form (if completed).
      • The 'Documentation' tab will show all files uploaded to the component, including files uploaded as part of the specification form and supporting documents uploaded ad hoc.
      • The 'Compliance' tab will show you the recyclability, the compliance (i.e., sustainably sourced, compostable, technical drawing uploaded) and risks that affect products linked to the component.

4. If you wish to make amends to the component but don't want to reject it, just click on the 'Edit' button on the top right corner. This will allow you to make and save changes.

5. When you are ready to confirm or reject the component, click on the 'Complete' button in the top right corner.

2. If the component has attributes that are at risk in any of the markets of sale, these will be displayed here.

      • You must review and accept all the risks associated with this component before you can confirm it. If you do not wish to accept the risks, you must reject the component so that its specification can be amended.

3. Accept the risks by ticking the 'Accept all risks' box. Once you have accepted the risks, you can click on the 'Evaluate and Complete' button.

Your component's recyclability will be evaluated and the 'Confirm Component' task will close and disappear from your Task Hub.

(For more information, please see our guide on at risk and banned attribute.)

4. Once a component has been confirmed, it will acquire a 'Confirmed' verdict under the 'Approval History' tab. However, the status of the component will not become 'Active' until it has been approved during an 'Approve Bill of Materials' task.

(For more information, please see our guide on component statuses.)

Reject a Component

1. Click on the red cross button from the verdict popup.

2. You will be required to select a rejection reason and a new due date in order to reject a component. There is a space for optional comments if you would like to add extra detail for the product or packaging supplier.

3. Once rejected, the status of the component will change to 'in progress', the 'rejected' verdict will be set against the component and the 'Confirm component' task will close and disappear from your Task Hub.

4. The product or packaging supplier user that submitted the component will get a new task to amend and resubmit the component.

Missing Mandatory Fields

When you click ‘Complete’ on a ‘Confirm Component’ task, e-halo will validate the information on the component specification form to ensure no mandatory fields are missing.

If there are any mandatory fields missing, you can see them in the validation summary at the top of the form.

You will not be able to complete the ‘Confirm Component’ task until all the mandatory information has been added to the specification form.

The fields can be completed by clicking on the 'Edit' button and saving the changes.

(For more information, please see our guide on missing mandatory fields).
