Evaluate a Component

  • Retailer, Product Supplier and Packaging Supplier users can Evaluate Components with the status 'In Progress' or 'Approval in Progress' to check their recyclability.

How-to:

1. Firstly, find the Component you want to evaluate from the Component Hub and click on the Component Name or ID to access its details page.

Alternatively you can evaluate a component from the 'Complete Component' task (product or packaging supplier users only) or the 'Confirm Component' task (product supplier users only).

2. Click on the 'Evaluate' button in the top-right of the Component summary page. The system will evaluate the recyclability of the Component in the Product's countries of sale.

When the evaluation is complete, a green pop up will appear on your screen to let you know it has been completed.

(Note: if the component is not complete, for example, some fields in the specification have blank specs, the evaluation might fail.)

3. To see the results of the evaluation, go to the Compliance tab and see that the Recyclability and the Compliance sections will be populated/updated.

In the Recyclability section of the Compliance tab, you will see flags that represent each of the countries of sale, see example below:

      • If a flag is on the Recyclable column, it means the component is recyclable in that country of sale.
      • If a flag is on the Not Recyclable column, it means the component is not recyclable in that country of sale.

In the Compliance section of the Compliance tab, you will see circles that indicate if the component is Sustainably Sourced, Compostable and if a Technical Drawing has been updated.
