Evaluate a Bill of Materials

  • Retailer and Product Supplier users can Evaluate Bills of Materials with the statuses 'In Progress' and 'Approval in Progress' to check their recyclability.

How-To

1. Find the Bill of Materials you want to evaluate from the Bill of Materials Hub and click on the Bill of Materials ID to access its details page.

Alternatively you can evaluate a Bill of Materials from the 'Complete Bill of Materials' task (product supplier users only) or the 'Approve Bill of Materials' task (retailer users only).

2. Click on the 'Evaluate' button. The system will evaluate the recyclability of the Bill of Materials in the products' countries of sale.

When the evaluation is complete, a green pop up will appear on your screen to let you know it has been completed.

(Note: if the Bill of Martials is not complete, for example, some Components have blank specs, the evaluation might fail.)

3. To see the results of the evaluation, go to the Compliance tab.

In the Recyclability section of the Compliance tab, you will see a list of all the Components in the Bill of Materials, each component will have flags that represent each of the countries of sale, see example below:

  • If a flag is on the Recyclable column, it means the component is recyclable in that country of sale,
    • In the example below, you can see the LLDPE Bag is recyclable in the UK, Spain and the Netherlands.
  • If a flag is on the Not Recyclable column, it means the component is not recyclable in that country of sale.
    • In the example below, you can see the LLDPE Bag is not recyclable in the Germany, France and Italy
  • If a flag is on the NA Recycled as set column, it means the Component is recycled as part of a Set and will take the recyclability of the main Component in the set.
    • In the example below, you can see the PE Back Label is recycled as a set with the LLDPE Bag. This means the PE Back Label will be recycled together with the LLDPE Bag and therefore it's recyclable in the UK, Spain and the Netherland and it's not recyclable in the Germany, France and Italy.
