Brief the Creation of a Component

  • Product supplier users can brief the creation of components to their own product supplier organisation or delegate this task to a packaging supplier.

How-to:

1. To brief the creation of a new component, go to the 'Complete Bill of Materials' task of the Bill of Materials you wish to add the new component to and click on the 'Add Components' button.

3. The 'Create New Component' popup will appear on your page. Complete the information on the 'Type' tab

  • Select the component type (e.g., closure)

  • Select the component tier (primary, secondary or tertiary)

  • The brief type cannot be changed, as it's defined by the retailer when briefing the creation of a Bill of Material, however, if you would like to upgrade a component from '2-stage' to '1-stage', tick the 'Upgrade brief type' box

  • If the component is decorated, tick the 'decorated box. This can be changed when completing the component, so don't worry if you don't have that information yet.

4. Complete the information on the 'Packaging Supplier' tab.

  • Select the organisation that will be completing the component. This can be your own product supplier organisation or it can be a packaging supplier organisation.

    • The organisation you select will receive the 'Complete Component' task. Once running, the 'Complete Component' task can be transferred form the packaging supplier organisation back to your organisation or from your product supplier organisation to the packaging supplier organisation.
